A Little Bit of Mexico in Michigan

Today I was able to escape for an hour and help put together another P.E.O. auction dinner package.  This time the dinner theme was Mexican. Doris and Janet put together an extremely YUMMY meal (I tried the test-run a couple of weeks ago), and I pulled together some things for the table.

Doris made the orange napkins and purchased the festive tablecloth on the beach in Mexico, the solid dishes and “pail” candles were purchased at Meijer, the floral appetizer plates and votive candle holders came from Dollar General, I found the cheap maracas at a party supply store and used them as “place cards,” and the potted flowers in the center are left over from shower favors some friends and I gave away a few weeks ago at a shower we hosted. The pots were purchased at Menard’s for $.33 each!

Here is a daytime perspective of the table in the center of Doris’ garden.  I wish I could have seen it when the candles and surrounding lanterns were lit!  (Sleeping children kept me away.)
